What do we want
Touched by the friendliness and eagerness of the people, but also by the lack of opportunities during a trip to Nigeria by Hans-Peter Zeh and Kenneth Ekeugo , the idea was born to promote and support school projects. We want to help people who weren't lucky enough to have been born in a rich industrialized country to make a difference in their lives. The guiding principle "help for self-help" is central to us.
Our vision is:
1. Establish the Okigwe region as a «Center of Academic and Economic Empowerment» with the conviction that poverty can only be alleviated through education and professional empowerment.
2. In addition, the foundation also wants to help individual people in individual cases who are in an emergency situation, for example, due to strokes of fate. We help, for example, by covering the costs of urgent surgeries, remedying precarious housing situations or distributing food parcels.
Our projects in Brazil are carried out by the Schönstattbewegung.
How we help
The projects are proposed by voluntary local teams and selected by the foundation's board. The board of directors promptly oversees and controls the work carried out and demands precise account of the use of the approved expenses.
Who we are
We are people who put Christ's commission into practice and build institutions that improve the lives of many people. We all work on a voluntary basis, all foundation funds flow fully into the projects.
The foundation welcomes the participation of other charitable institutions and people of good will.
